Rags of Authenticity

Even when
we profess the Indian cuisine religiously, it is not wrong to confess each
individual course of the cuisine have come originally in isolation from the
others. At the same time, there have been innumerable instances where there is
similarity of cultures, customs, eating habits amongst people of different
areas of domicile. The Indian culture has grown in a variety of circumstances,
viz land profile, historical influence, crop patterns, climate, traditions,
medicinal benefits explored, local availability and so on.

others. At the same time, there have been innumerable instances where there is
similarity of cultures, customs, eating habits amongst people of different
areas of domicile. The Indian culture has grown in a variety of circumstances,
viz land profile, historical influence, crop patterns, climate, traditions,
medicinal benefits explored, local availability and so on.

The agricultural
produce made way to the permutation and combination of primary food materials
and helped analyze those compliment and those supplement each other. In the
world where “Son of the Soil” has a pragmatic presence, we the Culinary-Responsible
Citizens (CRC)
of India need to conserve the authenticity as a mark of
gratitude for the inter-ethnic cultures coming together to form the gigantic Multi-cultural
heritage of Indian Cuisine
.

There have
been CRCs who have written and practiced the art of Indian-ness, and I have my
own doubts as to what if we organize a massive drive; a campaign to restore or
atleast find out the approximate number of original delicacies that we own but
are unaware. The advent of foreign entities have had a notable impact in
breaking the original base to establish the foreign trade and help people of
different caste, creed, culture, customs etc to live together and inter
exchange their culinary finesse. That is the reason why we can see today’s
Aadhar Card citizens finding some similarity in Maharastrian, Koli, Goan, Parsi
Cuisines for example.

The
ready-to-cook and ready-to eat tech of convenience foods have brought an era of
laziness, but promoting the traditional preparation to the Everest. No one
would walk that extra mile merely to dish out something special, rather it is a
penny-throw distance and time away. So just sit back and enjoy.

Many surveys
confirm the
traditional Indian culture’s continuous decline, with westernization playing a
huge part in an attempt to bridge the palate of the new age Indians. All this
is also influenced by society’s perception of the person. Starting from home to
family to grandparents to friends and relatives to marriages to rituals to
socializing to upgrading trends to raw materials consciousness to healthy diet
mentality to professional exposure, reflects the individuality in the society. The
religious and regional aspects have left an indemnifying impact on the culture
including the customs, costumes, culture and eating habits.

Indian culture is popular all over the world and
specially with the top dictators and dignitaries having their stalk for its
various enchanting particulars listed by one and all, Indians and foreigners
resulting in a common statement that no
one culture ever surpasses the other culture, as it all depends on each
person’s perception. Many people these days opt to take positive points from
all trespassed cultures and live as it suits them; leaving behind the RAGS OF
AUTHENTICITY, of Indian Cuisine shattered. 

 Even if a hand-full of like-minded CRCs start to do the needful,
the rest will join later. Also thanks to the cook shows especially which dedicate
themselves to simplify the various regional delicacies giving the viewer a
chance to exploit the flavor of dishes not existing on one’s home meal
table.
